Summer Camp Session Information

This week-long day-camp will introduce students to the basic structures of the Python programming language. We will cover variables and expressions, lists of values, using functions, strings, branching, looping, and basic graphing. We will learn programming while exploring the natural world, all with an eye on encouraging the development of character and virtue. Below is a summary about our camps. Details will be sent to registered students.

Session Dates

Session #1 (July 14 – 18, 2025)
Session #2 (July 28 – August 1, 2025)
Session #3 (August 18 – 22, 2025)

Each session offers the same instructors and general learning experiences. Just choose the week that fits your child’s schedule!

Grade Requirement

Incoming 6th and 7th graders

Prerequisite

The student should be able to type at a reasonable pace and should be performing (especially math and science) at grade-level.

Skill Level

Beginner

Instructors

Our instructors have decades of experience teaching kids. Our lead instructor has been teaching for over 20 years in higher education! He is currently an associate teaching professor of computer science.

Tuition

Our grand opening early-bird special tuition for this year’s camp is $550/student by June 15. The regular tuition is $650/student by June 30. Need-based financial aid is available to a limited number of students. Please contact us directly regarding financial aid.

Tuition Includes

The tuition covers all academic activities, including use of a laptop while at the camp. Students will also receive a camp t-shirt and a copy of a textbook on Python (for future learning).

Materials to Bring

Please bring paper and pen/pencil to take notes and a lunch that will not require refrigeration or cooking.

Camp Schedule

The camp is held daily, Monday through Friday, 9 am – 4 pm. Below is a sample schedule:

8:45 am: Check-in opens
9:00-9:30 am: Welcome & Icebreakers
9:30 am-11:00 am: Morning STEM Module
11:00 am-Noon: Morning Coding Activity
Noon-1:00 pm: Lunch and recess
1:00 pm-2:30 pm: Afternoon STEM Module
2:30 pm-3:30 pm: Afternoon Coding Activity
3:30 pm-4:00 pm: Review Games, Prizes, and Clean-Up

Please arrange to have your child picked up by 4:10 pm.

Camp Location

We will be renting space from a private school at 1040 12th Ave NW, Issaquah, WA 98027. Please do not contact the facility directly.
