Our “Secret Sauce” Blend of Learning Experiences

Our summer 2025 camps introduced incoming 6th and 7th graders to Python programming in the context of STEM concepts. We analyzed measurements of trees and leaves, examined water flow out of an orifice, built a “Mars lander” that would protect the cargo of the spacecraft, and measured the porosity of a sponge. We used a number of these activities to motivate our learning of Python. We learned indoors and outdoors. Throughout our camp activities, we threaded in instruction about virtues such as kindness, discipline, and perseverance. Below are some photos from our summer 2025 camps.

For the 2025-2026 school year and summer 2026, we are considering offering one or more of the following camps and workshops. Possible topics are listed in each description below, to give you a sense of the kinds of programming topics addressed.
